My strange journey to becoming an avid reader

in books •  8 years ago

I use to be the same way, never enjoyed reading until i started working a job where i had a lot of free time. So i was talking to a friend from work about how to pass the time she said read a book. So i started searching for books i would enjoy reading. Which surprisingly it didn't take me long to figure it out. I have always loved vampires, werewolves witches you name it. Supernatural things have always fascinated me. I did some research and found multiple books i would enjoy reading. I guess you could say i became addicted to reading new series, that first year i read over 180 books.

Well if you are ever in the market for some fantasy recommendations I am always glad to share a few of my favorites.

Do you have a favorite series?

I have a few favorites, depending on a length you are looking for. If you want just a standalone novel I would recommend Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman or Tigana by Guy Gavriel Kay. If you want a trilogy I would do Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson or the Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss.

If you want a nice long epic 10+ book series, Malazan Book of the Fallen by Steven Erikson is a good one if you like things a little more dark.

K ill look into those, once i finish the current series im working on, ATM im reading Anita Blake Vampire Hunter. I tend to stay close to my Vampires. :)
