This book was a gift from the author, who was my teacher and mentor during my studies on Anthropology. Written on Spanish, English and Mayan languages, this collection of more than 70 stories is a window to the world of Mayan mythology, which characters still resonate in rural and, also, urban areas of southeatern Mexico.

Some of these stories, as the Balames, the Chayilkan, the X'ooch, and the Tsukan, where research and analysis themes for the obtaining of the university degree on the part of Anthropology students. In the case of the Tsukan, the author himself had published a book where he made an exhaustive symbolic analysis in order to explain the meaning of this myth in the rural community of Calcehtok.

Each myth has a certain level of complexity, a number of versions and a huge number of interpretations that we would not finish mentioning in this review. Still today I am amazed at its rapid adaptation to today's world, the incorporation of elements to its environment and the deep meaning it holds in each of the symbols that compose itself. Undoubtedly this book, of quick reading and very detailed illustrations, is a delight for anyone who wants to know their roots or the Mayan mythology itself, and even to practice and improve English or Maya languages.
