Title 42 is a sort of shell game that both teams are using to their “advantage”.
Neither wants to grow a spine and tell Americans that there’s no actual threat here. And it’s a horrible non-solution to any angle on the immigration system. Anyone we reject is coming back over. We know this from last year’s annual reports.
This is at least doubling the CPB workload with zero impact. Any fencing or barriers just channel the flow to more dangerous crossing points and ensure the flow will be uncontrolled/uncounted.
The only decent solutions in play are the voluntary bussing programs that TX/AZ are doing to get people to final destinations—-yet those solutions are played (intentionally by the governors) as ways to sensationalize the problem instead of encouraging cooperation between the states.
It’s so fantastically disappointing.
