Meet the Investigative Team
In Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Episode 264, we get a whopping 4 new character names! That’s right, we now know the names of 4 more of Kawaki’s and Himawari’s classmates. I’m honestly surprised it took so long to get the names for some of these characters.
The first of these newly named characters I want to go over is Sōsha Amino. Why? Because I expected that we’d get her name much sooner than we did. Sōsha is the girl with short, orange hair who’s been present and vocal in a few episodes so far.
It’s possible that we got her name before this point and I don’t remember, though. Because something I do remember is that she writes for the school newspaper. She’s always looking for the next big scoop, which is why she joins the investigative team.
Next up, we have the Kageno Kura. She is a girl who wears a cat ear robe and a cat tail. And, no, he wasn't a member of the Izuno clan. But, he said he came from a family of gun users. So, it's possible that he's related to Nekobaa and Tamaki (Kiba Inuzuka's girlfriend).
The last two characters are a couple. They are twins Ran and Suzu Sogi. Ran is a boy and Sugu is a girl. Not much can be said about either of them. And they probably won't be important, given their simple design.
In addition to these 4 characters, the investigation team also included 5 other characters. These are Kawaki, Himawari, Eh, Yuina, and Kae. Together, this group of 9 academy students set out to reach the bottom of the Seven Mysteries Academy.
I thought it was a bit strange that Eiki didn't join in to show off to Kae.
Himawari Solves the Case
Episode 264 wasn’t horrible as far as filler episodes go. But, it was very predictable. Right from the start, I knew Himawari was going to use her Byakugan at some point to figure it all out. And, that’s exactly what happened.
One of the Seven Mysteries says that a statue of the Third Hokage moves around the courtyard at night. During this part of the episode, Himawari figures out what Kawaki and Kae are doing. But, she doesn’t tell the other members of the investigative team. That would only ruin the fun for everyone.
But, we found out two interesting things from Himawari’s use of her Byakugan. The first is that she still can’t use it on-demand. Well, most of the time she can’t. It doesn’t seem like she’s done much training with it. With that said, she has a bit more control over it than she did in the past.
Conclusion
What do you think of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Episode 264? Do you think Kura is related to Tamaki? Did you expect Himawari to use her Byakugan? And which of the Seven Mysteries is your favorite? Let me know in the comments.
