Bose QC35 NC Bluetooth Wireless Headset

in bose •  7 years ago

Back in June 2017, I acquired my first ever Bose headset. The Bose QuietComfort 35 Noise Cancelling Wireless/Bluetooth Headset – Black!
Let me say, WOW! The first thing you notice once it is turned on is absolute quietness – the noise cancelling feature. It’s exceptional. It literally blocks out all the surrounding sounds – I actually panicked. It was like a sensor in my brain said something was wrong. I felt nervous. Scared. Agitated. Mentally, it was as if I was transported to a somewhat secular space and time – and that’s not a joke – I actually felt alone in all peace and quiet.
It’s amazing the sounds that we are accustomed to in our daily lives, and when this shuts off – we are not really sure what happened. We get ‘panicky’! This is certainly not a bad thing when talking about a headset. After all, we want a blissful time enjoying our music of choice, whether be it on the go or at home relaxing.
The headset itself is beautiful – yet simple design. It covers the ears (at least mine) perfectly well. It’s comfortable over the head and can be adjusted to fit one perfectly. Paired with my Android device as well as Apple. Looked into my Eric Clapton Album “Pilgrim” and started playing “My Father’s Eyes” – I was absolutely stunned! The clarity, tone, bass – was astounding. For a brief moment, I thought I was listening to the single for the first time ever! The music itself was clean and free of distortion. It is quite loud as well. The volume can be adjusted on the right earpiece itself or via your device.
While the Bluetooth capability is definitely clean, IMHO, this is not a prime device for a conversation. It does not have that feel of an actual Bluetooth device for calls. No doubt, the noise cancelling feature is at its best – it’s just too bulky (again IMHO). The microphone is embedded in the actual earpiece.
Lastly, the battery life is rated at 20 hours from Bose. While I have never tested to have my headset on, playing for a full 20 hours, I have to say they are probably correct. I have had my Bose QC 35 on for about 4.5 hours after a full charge – just listening to music and when I shut it off and turned it back on, I still had 97% battery life. I have gone with it for about a week without charging and I still had about 70% juice. It was on during my ride into work and after work.
Now I am definitely not comparing this to another headset – as my knowledge of other headsets is very limited. However, I strongly believe this is a solid product from Bose. It performs its duties exceptionally well, delivering clean, crisp, clear music to the ears. The only thing negative to say is the price: $449 CDN.
