My Goodness! That's some high dollar equipment!

Well you don't buy it all at once. Little, by little...

Have good weekend brother!

LOL. Not unless you got some deep pockets you don't. I don't really view myself as a professional photographer. I'm more of an amateur that wants professional prices for his work! Haha. I have a Canon EOS D (I think it is) but it only does up to 8 MP I think it is. Seems outdated now compared to most digitals. I don't even carry it anymore. I just use my Smartphone. I've got a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and it seems to take really good pictures. I would be lost with equipment like that. I love the backdrop and the Light Tent Umbrella thingies. Those would be great for my ebay pics. I have a foldable light tent I use but we're selling large signs now and they don't fit in it. The lights I have are just on stands with reflector but no covering so sometimes if it's shiny you get glares. I need to upgrade but I hate to spend the money. LOL. You're right though...Buy a little at a time til you have it. You have a good weekend also. I enjoy seeing all your pics. :)

It's funny you mentioned being "professional" as I was thinking about creating a video today about it.

In reality any modern day camera can "take nice pictures". But it's how you use camera to "make" pictures and not "take pictures".

My take on being a "professional photographer" is having the knowledge of being to make pictures in any lighting situation. And for the most part we're usually shooting in dark situations - which means we have to use external lights and lenses with wide apertures. I tell prospective brides to be weary of photographers that say they use natural light as it's code word for "they don't know how to use lights". As even on a sunny day to make images pop we still need to use lights.

I had the S7 edge and in a pinch it does take nice photos. But as with all smartphones, images fall apart when it's dark.

At the end of the day you've got to use what you have as we'll never own everything we want!

Thanks again for stopping by brother!

True words. I've sold online since I was 15 and that is my main source of income. The photography and painting is just a sideline that I enjoy but not terribly serious about. I've sold some postcards of photographs and paintings that I've done, and I've sold one original acrylic canvas painting. It was a 16x20 and I got $250 out of it from a lawyer/politician in Dallas, Texas. I've been on Fine Art America for about 3 years and sold one art print of an old postcard I had (local history item). That's about it. I may never be famous for any of my work, but it's just something to do to relax and hopefully make a little money on. I would never want to do it professionally though. I just don't think my nerves could handle it and I'm always lacking in patience also. As for all the professional lights...I'm one of those "natural light" people. I wouldn't have a clue how to even begin to use that mess but I'm glad there are people like you that do. LOL. ;)

Learning photography isn't hard and anyone can do it. It's just requires and investment of your time (and some money). I'm working on a behind the scenes video on taking headshots so be sure to stay tuned for that as I'm sure you'll dig it.

Plus it's always flattering when people purchase your artwork. Even cooler hearing about how people were stealing my metallic pictures from the wall. LOL. They caught one person but there is still another one they weren't able to recover.

Honestly I think your art work being stolen is one of the best compliments someone can give you. If they like it enough to steal it, you know it's gotta be good!!! LOL

LOL

I definitely got a kick out of it!

Nice setup. Waiting on that behind the scenes footage!

Waiting for some new equipment (coming this week).

I have a mechanical keyboard that's very clicky and makes a lot of noise. But the noise isn't a good thing when doing voice-over stuff. I borrowed an Apple keyboard to test it out and it worked well - but not for 100$.

It's hard giving Apple money as they're a company that has suicide nets (where they make their phones) and also force their workers to have abortions. Plus they're even more in bed with the Chinese government now as they are handing over the login info for every Apple user. I'm stuck with Apple for the time-being as I have a lot of software that only works on Macs. All that being said I found a $26 keyboard.

Plus Maggy and I made it 10 years married last week! She bought me some new video lights for our anniversary and that will be in Tuesday / Wednesday.

I'll be filming the voiceover part this week so stay tuned!
