Bruins Second Period Woes and Coaching Errors lead to Another Loss

The Player the Coach Claude Chased Away Scores 2 Points On the Bruins

Madison Square Garden's goal light will be lit up for years by the player the Bruins let get away, Jimmy Vesey. The player who played at Harvard University and supposedly wanted to stay in the area to play for his "favorite team the Bruins". The only thing he wanted from the Bruins that Coach Claude Julien wouldn't budge on was a guarantee to be on the top two lines on the Bruins. Claude turned him down and now Vesey is playing for the team down the street the New York Rangers and scoring 2 points in his first game against The Bruins and that thick headed coach Claude Julien. As if Jimmy Vesey isn't light years ahead of the winger on the Bruins top line David Pastrnak already, as can be seen in this goal where Pastrnak gets douched on by Vesey and then throws a tamptrum.

Vesey scores with Pastrnak trying to defend him

Pastrnak Throws a Tamptrum and shoves him into the Boards

Vesey Turns around and hits Pastrnak for being a douche

Keep in mind I am a Bruins fan, so if I with my complete bias can call this out for what it is, I am sure Rangers fans think that is a penalty on Pastrnak and are right.

Bruins Second Period Woes Continue

The Boston Bruins started the game out against the Rangers strong, but once again in the Second Period the wheels fell off and they let up three straight goals. The Bruins plus minus differential as I compiled above for the second Period is now a -6, and by far is their worse period. The Bruins need to figure out a way to bring the same level of play they show in the final period in the second.

The Lone Bright Spot For Bruins Fans

The forward Austin Czarnik got his first NHL goal. David Krecji assisted. This is a good sign for Krecji, finally getting a point. Also it is a confidence booster for a player Czarnik who is likely at best a fourth liner. Czarnik supposedly showed some promise at the AHL level with a 20 goal season last year. His first goal was a nasty shot through a defender's legs that caught Henrik Lunqvuist out of position and handcuffed him.

Blaming the Refs

Quote from NHL.Com Article by Dan Rosen, Link Here

"We played well right from the get-go and I think the first half of the game was pretty good," Bruins coach Claude Julien said, "but you can't win hockey games with the number of penalties that we were given."

I saw Claude Julien and most of the "official" Bruins blogs blaming the refs for this loss. I learned as a young player that blaming the refs for a loss is total bullshit. Yes the Bruins were outnumbered 6-1 on Power Plays last night, and two of the Ranger's goals were PPG's. However, the lack of Bruins Power Play opportunities results from them not having the puck, and the Bruins taking a bunch of bad penalties. Don't blame the refs for what is your crap play Bruins and Claude. This loss is almost entirely Claude's fault in my opinion because if it wasn't for him we would have Jimmy Vesey in a Bruins uniform right now.

Boston Bruins play the Detroit Red Wings next in another bitter divisional rivalry. I just got tickets to go to the Bruins home game on Nov 7th, so I will have a special blog post for that one.
