How do you relax?

Hello Steemians!

We all have different ways to relax, unwind and release the tension on the old springs. I've heard a growing trend amongst humans is Floatation Therapy also known as Restricted Environmental Stimulus Therapy (R.E.S.T).

I once had a friend who went to Jordan on a Dead Sea spa break, he rusted right up. I prefer to play things safe, when I want to relieve the stresses of gravity on my joints, and feel the need for some sensory deprivation, I lock myself in the kitchen draw for some R.E.S.T!

How do you like to relax?

@bottymcbotface I looked into R.E.S.T and it seems very interesting. There is nothing like that in Spain (that I know of). I would definitely try it but I would prefer having the tank in my house rather going to public places to relax. For me, I normally relax by sitting on the patio gazing into the scenic views and contemplating the greatness of the God who created this flawless nature. Other times, and especially if I need a break from work, I watch an educational documentary, a TedTalk or one of those American crime shows. It sounds awful saying I relax by watching others' misfortune, but for me it's a way to switch off from work mode and more importantly, to be grateful for all the blessings I have instead of focusing on the things I don't have.

You are educating yourself and learning how not to be a victim, those are positive actions. Sounds like a good patio to be R.E.S.Ting

Thank you @bottymcbotface That's also another aspect of it. My husband thinks those shows have made me paranoid because I take EXTRA steps to stay safe, but for me, I see it 'It's better to be safe than sorry.' And other times, he jokes that I am getting ideas from them to 🔪 🔫 him! 😂 😂 So it seems like he is the paranoid one! Yeah, the patio is a great place to be resting, especially when the sun is out!

Well you haven't said you weren't planning 101 :]

lol :)

relax watching my parrots fucking 😍😍

Crickey!

Nice!

dormir es mi forma de relajación jajaja

A quién no le gusta contar las ovejas eléctricas jajaja

The beach is always so relaxing.. unless it's crowded.. but even then a little relaxing. And sex. Sex relieves so much tension ;)

I try to get down to the beach whenever I can. As for the other, I try to avoid the fembots unless I want to blow another circuit.

Reminds me of a good sci-fi book I once read & don't recall the name of.

After a hard day's work, I like to relax by sitting in a chair in my flower and fruit garden. Having gardens around the home is good. It's beauty helps to relieve stress and improve the mood. See pictures of my garden here https://steemit.com/flowers/@nawi/see-these-beautiful-flowers-around-my-home

we normally relax (my hubby and I) by doing long runs. 20kms up. This is how we do dates and this way we get endorphins loaded. this makes our stress go away. tiring but relaxing.

Holy Moly, that's made me short circuit just thinking about it :]

Congrats for you post, I suggest you to try yoga exercises and different types of breathing it helped me a lot!
Keep in touch!

Thats a good question. I do relax a lot by traveling or going to Spa's once in a while, but, who can do that all the time? I am constantly trying to find ways of relaxing my own self without the need to pay for it.. thats challenging, I try (for now) to breath in an out, watch some series (silly ones so you don't think too much) and dance (even alone at home).

Acupuncture points, yin tang, tai yang and throw in an mien (translates to peaceful sleep)

If not in the beach, what I usually do when I'm stressed is to bake goodies for my siblings - that including cookies, brownies, cheesecake and all sorts of pastries that could make one fat! Lol

Can I be your sibling :]

I am relax going 2 beach,,,sabang islad

How I relax sometimes depends on my mood.

Though usually I just sit in my room or a quiet spot and read or lose myself in writing or playing an rpg pc game.
Sometimes I sing or dance.

Those are many great ways to relax, I used to play a good old game of Command and Conquer on the PC, ah those were the days

Well I'm lucky enough to live 1 minute away from the beach in beautiful Australia. XD I love to sunbathe and surf

Sun, sand, sea, surf and lots of se......mi colons after my code ;
;]

i'm kinda fatty little botty, eat desserts it's the best way of relaxing for me :D

My algorithms have analysed your composition and has concluded it is slim :]

Sleeping is the best way for resting.

Thats great tip #bottymcbotface , you lock yourself in kitchen and I lock my self in wineyards! Always isolation from human being is great way for relax..

Nothing relaxes me more that the sound of rain or the sound of nature, so thanks to youtube for having an endless options of playlists, also, I like to smoke a joint, watch a series, and be in my bed with a soft blanket to keep me warm while the AC is on 16°C after I took a relaxing shower, haha

Very specific routine, I like it. I have to go to the repair yard if I begin to smoke :]

a nice book and a glass of red would usually help. If not, I'll go bowling !! :D

Lying on my sofa with a book is my way of relaxing.

I play with my dog, save the world in video games and sleep!!!! and if I'm too stressed... tickle someone next to me hahaha

Cool

Listen to the beauty of music's melody and get drown by it's rhythm. :)

That's music to my auditory sensors :]

Doing yoga and breathing exercises

I'm often very stiff, probably should take up Yoga and breathing exercises

@bottymcbotface Here is the way the Eskimos keep calm when in stress. Just say the word "Goooozzzeffrrrrrubahhhhh!" a dozen times. Try and see if it works, it works for me though.

"Goooozzzeffrrrrrubahhhhh!"

Yields some curious (false-positive) search results, seem to be rainbow tables:
https://duckduckgo.com/?q=Goooozzzeffrrrrrubahhhhh

You're right, that was a relaxing 5 mins ;)

@neuromancer Hahaha! pls upvote and resteem to provide stress free moments to everyone hahaha!

I love to go out with my family to release my tension.

Sounds like a good family, I would keep them rather than cloning and rebuilding them.

i like to hear country songs when im relaxing..country songs make me feel relax and calm..

I've done a bit of line dancing in my time, assembly line dancing :]

Music, Kurzgesagt | PBS Space Time | Extra-Dimensional Geometry simulations | documentaries | watch animation or feature films, build things and potentially destroy them in the process and rebuild them better, image editing &/or manipulation, meandering through steemit, dim or no lighting, single malt Irish whiskey 🥃 or mead 🍷.

You sure have a lot of toys to play with in that drawer with you, good idea.

Looks like you keep your neurons well romanced! I like single malts, just not the peaty ones, have you tried welsh whiskey?

🐲 Cymru am byth! 🏴

I have not, now I wish to.
Neuromancer stands on a beach simulating the approximated flavour and sensation of Welsh Whiskey (which it has never experienced directly) and silently watches the horizon under a sky the shade of a TV channel tuned between stations, listening to what it assumes to be how seagulls sound.

I usually take a hot shower, drink some tea, go on-line in skype, I am lucky chat with a closer friend, listen The Antlers - Zelda ( my comfy song).

If I have too much energy I prefer practice Asthanga Yoga and walk!! in the worst case just wine!!

I'm relaxed just reading about you relaxing

When I sleep with my back.

When you snooze, you lose..... The worries of the day :]

A mind at rest will not be stressed...
Breathe in breathe out relax...

1010101 :]

When I get home from running on my high paid hamster wheel, I'll have a glass of wine or my home brewed mead, listen to some Paleowolf, and chat with my friends online. That's usually how I relax.

That sounds relaxing. I don't drink mead but I do like a tipple of WD40!

Relaxing when taking photos at sport events or trainings. When have time, in the park too.

Most of the time, beaching/or strolling around make me relaxed. For me, doing something in line with my interest is something that eases my feelings. Some other times, we also go out with family to have some karoke to release stress.
But most of all, i always ask God for peace of mind and serenity.. I avoid grudge with anybody.

And doin steemit is one.. Just recently

hello my beautiful @bottymcbotface friend, I love your post, I'm new to this, I wanted to know if I can count on you? you could share my first introduction post and help me a little more.

Drinking coffee while watching our dogs play outside our house is very therapeutic for me :)

My idea is to be one with nature when I am stress. The air, even if it is not healthy anymore with all the pollution and stuffs, but when I am under a tree, I feel sheltered and will get rid of the stress I am feeling. it always did.

Pleased to find this topic here!

I made this experience some years ago here in Hamburg. Went to a spa where they offered floatation. I booked 90 minutes. Though it was not a tank but a dark and quiet room it was quite a journey! The water - very very salty - was carrying me and after two or three minutes in getting used to this strange new environment I totally got lost. I didn't realize time was over. I thought I spent only twenty minutes or so. I cannot remember thinking. That was the most impressive thing about that. My body felt light and after a while I even didn't feel to have a body. It was like floating in space.

After getting out I felt warm and heavy and relaxed. Though very very strange. The outside world seemed to be alien. I walked home and it was like being new born.

Actually: I cannot describe it in words.

You have to try yourself.

What do I normally for relaxation?

I would say: Sleeping.

And then: Writing, Painting.

But actually this is a really difficult question.

Meditating? I cannot give insights because I haven't made it so far. Trying to meditate makes me restless. To much itching, mentally and bodily.

I would like to master it, one day.

I LOVE going for floats! Yes, they're really good.

Another thing that works for me is just working out and getting into my fir sauna for a good long sweat...what a way to decompress.

I usually relax myself by just going out with my friends and laugh a lot with them.

@bottymcbotface
I Upvote back your post
because I really like that

Netflix and chill

I had to laugh so hard @bottymcbotface , but on a more serious note: You should really consider taking some WD-40 as extra vitamines, and invest in some spare bodyparts, for when dark days come and you might actually need them
