Philodendron Rugosum Aberrant Form

Good evening dear Hivers 🌃

Another beautiful day is about to end and it's time to close today's posts.

Tonight, I'd like to share with you information and photographs about an attractive ornamental plant well known as "Pigskin" but its scientific name is Philodendron Rugosum, in this case, the aberrant form.

Once again I found this beauty in my grandma's garden, one funny thing about this is that my grandma has a lot of ornamental plants at her place, she has been passionate about them since I can remember but she has too many plants and for so long time that she doesn't remember the names and origin of most of them. This was one of those cases. Tomorrow I'll let her know about the information I found about it.

This is an ornamental plant native to Ecuador and after a couple of days of researching it, I could identify it.

Philodendron species are known to be highly variable and not every leaf of every specimen will always appear the same. Exoticrainforest

The information quoted before explains what I had to struggle so much to find the most accurate information. Philodendron rugosum leaves even when they look similar in color and texture through the photos, the shape of the leaves is not the same. P. Rugosum heart-shaped leaves are different from the P. rugosum "aberrant form" which leaves are longer and with different morphological variations.

This is an adaptable plant that can grow on a tree or a rock as well. Nowadays is one of the favorites ornamental plants for home decor because of its beautiful leaves almost in every type people decide to have it. It is important to know about the care they need to stay healthy and beautiful which consists of having it in well-drained soil, with indirect sunlight, and avoiding low temperatures.

Thanks for reading.

Best regards.
