Bot or not??

Wow i've been on steemit 1 day and feeling quite disappointed with interactions between steemers...
Reading through posts theres alot of negativity amongst steemers around all manner of stuff...
BOTS seems to be quite an issue.

Clearly promoted by steemit as helpful
And yet seems to be bitterly disliked amongst others..almost like cheating.
Im stating up front loud and proud..
I wont be using bots...i wouldnt even know how to use them. And im gonna do my best to not engage with them.
If i cant make steemit work through good old fashioned hard work, reading and genuine connection, then this is not the place for me...

I felt the same way at first, then I realized that bots were a way to fast track some success. They aren't easy to use without major losses, but if you figure it out they can at least break even for you.

Nothing wrong with trying it the old fashioned way, but also nothing wrong with using the tools that are available to you. And a tool is exactly what a bot is.

Hi @thedarkhorse
With the huge learning curve im on...i think its gonna be old skool all the way for me.
Me and technology are strangers slowly becoming acquainted so i can grow my life and range of influence and knowledge...
What I find so interesting is the very bad feeling BOTs seems in evoke in certain steemers...
when a fellow stewmer is clearly having great success and some folk just wanna tear it down because they are using bots..with quite aggressive, snidy and rude comments regarding bot use .....i find it very strange indeed and sad really...

The issue many have is that people are doing cut and paste theft of content and then using bots to gain lots of rewards. I have a serious issue with this and if my voting weight was enough I would just crush these posts with downvotes.

If someone is making quality posts...or rather at least making 100% original content posts then I'm all for those people using bots to promote their posts. Self Promotion is part of everything we do in life and those that can't see that probably have a hard time understanding why their piers are always "so lucky".

Paid votes alone aren't going to get you huge rewards as the votes are typically break even at best and many times actually a loss. So if your content sucks the paid votes alone won't be any benefit. You need to then capture some other votes by hitting the hot or trending pages, without the added votes you just burned money.

Im actually inspired by the idea of doing and succeeding based on content coupled with genuine and authentic connection. Id like to investigate my writing skills as i have plans for future. Not even end of week one still masses and masses to learn but that will come and doesnt seem as important as just being part of something and adding to it.

Yes there is so much to learn and new stuff gets added all the time.
