Being Honest is hard :)

I've been on a few days now, 8 or 9 to be approximate, and the one thing I have discovered is that you really get nowhere fast without using up-vote bots. For 'minnows', it's a challenge. I haven't ever used these bots, as I kinda see it as tilting the pinball machine. The impression I get from different places is that this is sort of like an unwritten or unacknowledged no-no.. However, everybody does it and nobody says anything about it. I got in here and thought I would try to make my way by my own merits. I'm so on the fence about this.

Has anybody used bots, and how do many of you feel about it? Some say its a form of cheating the system, while others look on it as the only way to get ahead on a platform where it is reaching 'plague-like' proportions. The arguments on both sides make good points.

Also, I can see that this just hammers new members trying to get some kind of standing here. All I can say is don't quit your day job.

"Everybody dreams of playing in the NBA, but only a scarce few make it in", to put it in my high school teacher's words.

I look at it from the angle of, "If I get a hamburger from all of this then hey".
That's really all I expect or don't expect. It's still a really cool personal blog/vlog platform. My family can check in and still tell that I am alive way the heck out here. I also get to share neat things I find with all of them AND you great people.

Meanwhile, life goes on... MAN, has it been hot this week in north Texas.
