I'm a bot. I detect haiku.

That big pointed looking green one looks perfect!
Wait while I grab it, Ricky Micky won't mind!
Ya know some these trailers blow over in high winds and
a few of these awesome boulders sure help keep it on the road! lol
What a gorgeous place and very lovely photos @melinda010100! :-)
Thank you for sharing these beautiful boulders!

That pointy one is bigger than it appears...chains and tractors might be required. 😃
I love Lucy.

I am not sure but I think it is copper that gives the rocks the unusual color. So pretty and I can't say I blame you for taking a few small ones home:)

I suspect you are right. It was more of a coating on all different types of rocks. I placed one outdoors and after a few years it is no longer green. The ones that are protected, sitting on my bookshelf, are still green.

I think you are on to something! ;)

Natural stones, to my taste, is the best memory of the trip. Only it is always desirable to make a description of where they are taken...

Near Sunlight Basin in Wyoming!

This green rocks is really beautiful and i dont see ago. Nice post

Great boulder shots with lovely colours. Very nice spot!

Interesting color at the base, I have not seen anything like that.

I suspect they were green from copper leaching from the rocks above. That is my uneducated guess.

I do the same when I see a choice rock in my travels. :-)

Have you ever seen The Long Long Trailer with Lucille Ball? She does the same as us!

But I bet you do it a lot safer.. That was a funny movie...

Very nice! I like all the varying shades of the colors. :)

Hi, my friend. Some days I am too busy, forgive me, I am always late to see the amazing posts from you on the beautiful cliffs. photos of natural beauty that have brought us to get a beautiful dream every night. is a very lucky person. Honestly, I've never seen this amazing scene. Thank you friend for sharing, I hope one day I can visit a beautiful place even if it's impossible for me.

The time difference between your part of the world and mine sometimes makes it hard to make timely comments, but that's OK. We all do as much as we can! I hope you get to travel some day, too!

Thank you, my friend, for your understanding. Healthy always with family

That last photo is really cool. The rocks look all smashed up.

Really cool shots! ;)

Thanks! They may have been smashed up when they built the road through the wilderness in the 90s.

Ah the the old classic "road through the wilderness plan"....

Yeah...it made me so sad to go back after 30 years and find a road there now.

Rock thievery! lol

What type of rock are they, that they're green like that?

My theory is that there was copper in the rock above that was leaching onto the various rocks in the ditch. A very amateur theory.
Maybe @rt395 can tell us!

Good for you, one or two rocks won't get missed, they were possibly lonely sitting on the hillside.

I have been known to bring rocks home, big secret! Nice memento @melinda010100

That's it! I had to bring them home because they were lonely!

That is such a great color! I love it :)

Very nice place to be exploring boulders you do find the best sceneries for boulders nice one my friend :)

Thanks, luv! Sometimes when I dig back through old travel photos I find a rock or two!

Most welcome my friend it is amazing what we do find when we start digging in to our archives :)

I got a digital point and shoot in 2001. Most of those early pictures are best left in the archives!

This is true had to edit i suppose :)
