Jake Paul just wont go away and honestly, why should he. The former prankster younger brother of Logan is making a ton of money in the half-assed boxing world where he refuses to make fights with actual boxers and is 5-0 at the moment. He is also very young, very rich, and has almost complete control over what he does with his life, or so it appears.
Jake has called out McGregor many times in the past and even mocked his KO's going so far as to have a very expensive (or so it appears) necklace made commemorating when Conor went "night night" in the Octagon.

If this taunting was directed at literally anyone else other than Conor, I would feel bad for who was on the receiving end of it. Conor on the other hand has a lot of smack-talk karma heading his way and I feel nothing other than glee when I see things like this.
While Paul has tried to lure McGregor into a boxing match multiple times, the fact remains that Jake is a lot larger than Conor. McGregor has fought in 3 different weight classes, but his heaviest was at 170lbs. Jake Paul's fighting weight is 190lbs and while this maybe doesn't seem like a lot, it makes a HUGE difference in combat sports. There is a reason why the various divisions are divided by small weight amounts because 10 or even 5 lbs of weight difference can mean a massive power differential.
Given his frame, I don't know if it would even be possible for Jake to cut weight to get to Conor's level, but he has offered to cut weight to 175. This would certainly make things more fair but we also have to look at other things in the equation. Conor is at his best around 155 and historically speaking, he performs worse when he is heavier. This could all just be coincidence and that Conor simply lost his mojo at that point for other reasons but at least statistically speaking, it is a fact.

this is obviously photoshopped
I think that the world would really want to see this fight because I think that most of the world would like to see both of these loudmouths KO'd as often as possible. That's the way I and everyone I talk to in my day-to-day feels anyway.
At the moment, Conor isn't actually engaging with Paul and this might have something to do with his UFC contract. However, the fact remains that this fight would bring in as much money to Conor's piggy-bank on a level that would take 8 UFC fights so he may be very tempted to take it.
I suspect that this fight eventually will happen, but only after Conor has exhausted his options with UFC and I believe that the Irishman is about 1 or 2 losses away from being considered totally washed up. Will Jake still want a fight with Conor should this happen? It depends a lot on how much Conor continues to run his mouth methinks and knowing what I know about Conor, this is one part of his game that isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

We're talking about a guy who after getting man-handled for the first round, then breaks his own leg STILL talks trash from a seated position on the floor. There are a lot of ways to stop other parts of Conor's game, but his mouth is unstoppable. So is Jake's.
I don't get excited about Jake Paul fights but I have kind of warmed up to the guy when he talks about pay disparity in the UFC and many people agree, including Joe Rogan who he has a "kind of" relationship with. Joe isn't allowed to openly support the movement to increase UFC fighter's pay but you can tell when he touches base on it that Joe actually believes that Jake is right.
It could be interesting to see if Conor takes the bait on this but at least for now, Conor is staying in the background and focusing on MMA. I think he is far too arrogant to just walk away from that and would rather be carried out on a stretcher than give up.
After that does happen though, and I believe that it will and that McGregor doesn't have a chance in hell of revitalizing his former glory, perhaps we will see these guys meet at 175. I still wouldn't pay to see it, but I have to admit that I would look forward to it.
