The fight will be the main Event on the boxing card at Windsor Park, Belfast, Northern Ireland on 18 August.

Red corner/Blue corner

... Introducing first, Fighting out of the red corner. He enters the ring with a perfect professional record of 16 fights, 16 victories and 0 defeats including 7 wins by knockout. He is a former 2012 London Olympian ...from Hobart, tasmania, Australia.... Make some noise for...

Luke ACTION Jackson-n-n

...And across the ring, fighting out of the blue corner. In 26 professional fights, he has amassed 25 victories including 14 wins by knockout, with only 1 single defeat. He is a former unified super bantamweight world champion and a one time Featherweight title holder ... join me in welcoming the home town hero...

Carl THE JACKAL Frampton-n-n

Unexpected fight

This was an unplanned fight for the Jackal. He was expecting to be fighting for a world title and a very lucrative purse against former Welsh world champion Lee Selbly, but a certain Josh Warrington threw a spanner in the works by deservedly claiming victory and the IBF world title from Selby's grasp.

Compare the records of both fighters, and Frampton is understandably a clear favourite with the bookmakers, he has had more fights, has fought on the bigger professional stages and has fought against much more recognised and accomplished opposition, including three weight world champion Leo Santa Cruz and former world champ Kiko Matinez... but this is boxing, and its a funny old sport.

Jacskon's claims that Frampton is a washed up fighter who is over the hill, would at first seem idiotic, considering that Jackson is actually 2 years older than Frampton at 33 years old, while Frampton is only 31. But since his two hard fought body destroying wars with Leo Santa Cruz, he just hasn't looked like the same fighter, although whether this could be due to a change in his coaching and management team, and the need for a period of grace for the new bedfellows to synchronize or whether Jackson is right, only time will tell.

This fight raises huge unanswered questions about Luke that he will have to overcome to claim the victory. It marks a huge step up in class against a guy who has not only fought world champions, but beaten them, and has been a world champ himself and who still has genuine aspirations of becoming a world champ again. He will be fighting in Frampton 's hometown of Belfast not just against Frampton, but against a very passionate, loyal and frenzied boxing support. This will be Jackson's first time fighting on foreign soil as a professional.

If Luke does manage to pull this one off, it will be quite an impressive feat, as all the odds are stacked against him, but I have to side with the experience in this one and go with Frampton for the win.

The referee is ready, the judges are ready, and the fighters are in the ring... and now fight fans....
