The day after Christmas; Boxing Day. And depending on where you are, this could mean many things. In Sabah, it probably means eating Boxed Up aka Tapau-ed food from an open house.
My Boxing Day becomes quite literal. In fact, I end up boxing up unmatched gifts received.
I have a friend who for YEARS since the dawn of receiving gifts from, who would regift and once was even regifted something I knew she was given (kaboom!). Ironically, I look forward to seeing what she gifts me for the year. I'm curious to know what goes through her mind when she "selects" these gifts.
Have you regifted a gift before? In all honesty I have. Yes, sometimes it could be because I didn't like it. Most of the time though, it's because I don't use the particular item; usually items from The Body Shop, Bath and Bodyworks etc. Now generally, one would like these items, hence I'd proceed to regift.
I actually Google this regifting scenario and I'm glad I'm not quite alone on this matter.
I guess in regifting the main considerations would be: will the recipient actually like the item?, is the gift proper for regifting?
If it's not, then rather than hoarding, just give it away anyways. Which will spark more joy? Regifting or just Giving?
