Right now Steemians are clamoring to get paid for their proof of work. We call it proof of brain. Prove that you have something valuable to offer the blockchain and we will pay you in upvotes.
The problem we have now is that Steem's only proof of brain application is blogging and vlogging. Because of underdevelopment these activities have very high supply and very little demand. Our community wants to work and they are getting very frustrated that they can't make a living wage here. In fact, some people would be very happy to even make $1 on something they worked pretty hard on.
I maintain that this inequity will be short lived. Once developers learn to harvest the brainpower here they will be the ones clamoring for your attention, not the other way around.
I am happy to be here this early. Steem is a gold mine and there is zero competition to get your attention. I strive to not only bring decentralized apps to this blockchain, but also apps that pay the communities behind them to be the backbone of development and regulation.
Once the development process is simplified, everyone at steem can be a part of development and get paid to do so. This I swear.
The @NobleWitness team agrees. Watch for our new steem interface being announced at Steem Creators in Toronto this week, by witness team member, @RhondaK of @thewritersblock, our new mission for @YouAreHOPE, which I will be announcing from Steem Fiesta in Peru in October, and more to come from us, as we roll two of our team over to Poland for SteemFest3.
Also follow the Steem exclusive MMORPG, Chibera, due out in the December holiday season for it's first look, early release crowdfund participants, for which I am a community mod as well.
New things are coming, and we aren't the only ones working hard to finish them.

I think that there is a large untapped reserve of resource use here on the platform. I think it would be nice to get some additional platforms linked off this besides dTube and some others I don’t know about.
I like your concept of games off the platform. I wouldn’t mind spending my Steem funds on a good game.

Hi @edicted. I hope you are right about this as I would like to see this platform boom one day.

I wouldn't really call it proof of brain. More like proof of social exploitation.

So many people I know have left this platform because the reward is too low. There all going to come back once STEEM goes back up in value, but they would have already lost the ability to collect. They pretty much would have to start from scratch again.

I hope you’re right. Being on Steemit right now is like shouting into the wind to be heard, and about as effective.

I think your right on that. My prediction is that in two years time we won't be using steemit as a site at all. It's not very functional for requirements and with the release of so many new dapps it can be seen as a bit spammy from the auto posts.
I think that as the userbase grows and the value of STEEM increases people will be linking to the blockchain through their dapps of choice. The likes of actifit allows people to be rewarded for exercise which will have it's own community that wont need to log into steemit at all, just post through the app. I'm using partiko a lot lately as it is very fast and clear for commenting and replying to others. Steempeak has a much better interface for users and allows you to filter content a bit better. As all of these develop and have their own communities of users people will migrate away from there to the application that suits their needs the best while still getting rewarded for use through STEEM or SMT's.
