A Brave New World - Explore the internet as it was intended

I happened to hear about Brave Browser a while back but I did not pay it much attention at first since we are all creatures of habit I stuck to my chrome ways for a bit longer.

I would often visit various news sites riddled with ads and pop ups and it was simply getting to be too damn much for me. Also with the slow internet we have here in South Africa, wasting bandwidth on ads is a no no and I can use all the speed I can get.

Which is why after clicking on the millionth pop-up to close or auto-play video ad or both I decided enough was enough and I would start using brave.

Exploring the internet as it should

Now I can explore any site ad free, you can see from my screenshot above how many ads ive avoided and how much time ive saved using Brave and I've even downloaded it on my iPhone.

My transition was seemless since it used chromium open source I was able to import all my bookmarks and plugins I normally use on chrome so you hardly feel the change. I also signed up as a brave content producer so you lovely people who visit my site can donate to me in BAT if you feel like it.

How Brave are you?

Don't you owe it to yourself to not waste your time and money viewing ads that do nothing for you?

I've started using brave a month ago and I use it as alternative browser for my several steem accounts ;-). I use brave with one account and chrome with the other. What I like about brave is that it is really faster than chrome and it blocks out all the code that is not necessary for the page. Sometimes I feel that it blocks too much content however. So I've to change the adblock settings from time to time.

Lol @smokingfit is the resident brave expert for sure! Glad you enjoying the use, hopefully more people and creators will catch on soon enough. I wonder when steemit or some of the dapps will become brave creators

I played a bit around and became a veryfied publisher with my website. I made some BATs like that. I don't get why steemit and other dapps don't do the same...

But why? They are the same, and if you click the avatar then you can just keep adding accounts each with their own history as they are mainly new instances

I like to use keychain with chrome. I don't believe it can be used in brave yet?

Can test it since brave is just chromium. The app manifest should be similar. Never know if you don't test :)

I started using brave right after it was published. This is a very good browser. It was still build on the chrome engine. I wonder if there is anything secretly embedded even after so much work.

I heard that brave has a few million downloads which is pretty impressive when you think you need to do a lot of convincing to get people to change from their current browser options so they must be doing something right.

I guess only time will tell but they seem pretty open and above board about what they doing and committed to changing the way we use the internet judging from the communication they put out.
