Another way to describe Hoppe is that he is a brutalist libertarian who for example argues that it is morally ok to remove or exclude communists and homosexuals by coercion. With brutalist, or fake, libertarianism one can justify almost anything as in sense of "throwing people out from helicopters" in the name of self-ownership and property rights. Also, Hoppe misunderstands democracy by equalizing to representation. Which is not the case since democracy as a process of conversation between free individuals does not include representation per se. https://fee.org/articles/against-libertarian-brutalism/

A few things:

  1. Hoppe is not brutalist. The exclude by coercion is only permited if these people try to invade the life of other person. (https://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Hans-Hermann_Hoppe)
  2. "throwing people out from helicopters". That is a falacy, since that is against the non-aggression pact, which is defended by him in a certain level.
  3. Democracy is the dictatorship of the majority.
  4. You cannot have a democracy without tax. Tax is theft, so totally against anarchocapitalism.

Just to make sure, I am also against the brutalism. I am a gradualist.

  1. He is a brutalist = wants to exclude communists and homosexuals, "throwing people out of the helicopter" style of arguments , supports Russian nationalist ideologists as Dugin

  2. It is a fallacy in theory, but in practice Hoppe is advocating brutalist behaviors where many things can be justified as long as they are labeled as libertarian = postmodernism, opportunism

  3. Democracy is based on conversation. Majorities and minorities in a democracy are temporary on depending on the issue. Democracy is not equal to representation per se. This is why there are terms as representative democracy.

  4. Of course that one can have democracy without taxation if for example one is living in Liberland or in an anarchistic community. The main challenge is that the world is still organized with states as the main unit . Even in an ancap society one can still have open conversations and decision-making = democracy, but without taxation and representation as a Parliament. As in the case of the Free State Project.

Nice to hear that you are a gradualist, because arguments of Hoppe are something else than gradualism.
