Two wildfires are currently burning out of control in British Columbia, prompting officials to issue evacuation alerts for affected areas. The Lost Valley Wildfire, located southeast of 100 Mile House, is threatening 27 properties in the Electoral Area E (Bonaparte Plateau), according to the Thompson-Nicola Regional District. The fire has already burned an estimated 113 hectares and is suspected to have been caused by humans.
In the Cariboo region, the Tl'etinqox Government has issued an evacuation alert for its community due to the Dripping Water Wildfire, which is also out of control. The wildfire, designated as C50100, poses a threat to the western portion of the community and is located on Highway 20, around 102 km from Williams Lake. The cause of the fire is also believed to be human.
Authorities are advising residents in the affected areas to remain vigilant and prepared for potential evacuations.
