Asthma is a lung disease which is also known as bronchial asthma. The most common symptom of asthma is shortness of breath. In fact, some people often equate the two. Shortness of breath is a symptom of a problem with the respiratory system. Generally, everyone who has asthma has experienced shortness of breath. A whistling sound is heard when breathing (inhaling and exhaling). This whistling sound is called wheezing. Seesaw movement in the chest of the working breath. These movements are called retractions. Some respiratory diseases that cause coughing up phlegm, namely asthma, a condition caused by narrowing and thickening of the airway walls and increased phlegm production. Unfortunately, asthma cannot be completely cured. However, treatment can still be done to help relieve the symptoms that are felt. Bacterial and viral infections are one of the triggers of asthma that are often overlooked by asthmatics. Asthma attacks that occur in the respiratory tract are often caused by viruses and bacteria which also have the same effect when infecting the human body.
