GSK’s vaccines business is one of the largest in the world, producing more than 30 vaccines for children and adults against a range of infectious diseases. The consumer health products has brands in four main categories: total wellness, oral care, nutrition and skin care. GSK has a significant global commercial presence in more than 150 markets, with a network of 86 manufacturing sites worldwide, and R&D centers in the UK, USA, Spain, Belgium and China.
GSK’s strategic priorities aim to increase growth, reduce risk and improve long-term financial performance. These priorities grow a diversified global business, deliver more product of value and simplify the operating model. They operate responsibly and ensuring their values are embedded in their culture and decision-making to help them better meet the expectations of society.
One of GSK’s Business Strategy is to create a more balanced business and product portfolio, capable of delivering sustainable sales growth. Their priorities are: a successful launch and commercialization of new products from their pipeline. To continue to invest in key growth businesses including Emerging Markets, Vaccines and Consumer Healthcare. Lastly to look further opportunities to increase focus and optimize value of their product portfolio.
Another objective of GSK is to change their R&D organization in such a way to better able to sustain a pipeline of products that offer valuable improvements in treatment for patients and healthcare providers. GSK let their business continues to transform how they operate so that they can reduce complexity and become more efficient. Their priorities is to further cost savings delivery from their restructuring programs and to further roll-out of standardized enterprise platforms and delivery of an integrated supply chain.
