NYC Blustery Chilly Sunday Eyes On Tuesday

Good morning everyone. Somebody turned on the wind machine today as expected, and we have a chilly one ahead of us due to the wind chill. Meanwhile, we have a fairly quiet week, but we're keeping a close eye on a very small piece of energy moving through on Tuesday/Tuesday night.

For today, expect clouds and sun, blustery conditions, and highs in the upper 30's to near 40. There's the very slight chance of a few flurries if any snow showers survive the trip across the Catskills. It's unlikely, but there could be a few rogue ones that make it. REGIONAL RADAR
The flurry "threat" remains going tonight and early tomorrow, but it remains a very slight chance. We'll have clouds and sun tomorrow, and we'll begin to modify into the mid 40's. LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY

Tuesday is interesting as a very small piece of energy comes out of the Tennessee Valley and across the area. We've been talking about this the past few days, and everything hangs on how vigorous it is if a wave develops, when, and where. It'll be on the move, so even if it has some juice with it, it'll be here and gone.

For now, expect increasing clouds and the slight chance of some light rain late. Overnight Tuesday will be key as temps drop and we see what this piece of energy does. So far, a light mix is possible locally, with the chance of a parting shot of snow N&W of NYC. The more vigorous the wave (if any at all), the colder the air and we could see some parting snow here as well. The weaker the system is, it'll be more of an all light rain event for most.

We'll be watching it to see what it does or what it doesn't do.

That system is long gone by Wednesday afternoon, and sunny/breezy conditions set in with seasonal upper 30's to low 40's in the area. Thursday looks more of the same, then we introduce our next rainmaker and "mild" temps late week/into next weekend.
