NYC Severe Weather Possible Tomorrow Late Afternoon

Good morning everyone. We have yet another very warm to hot one today as we are in full summer-mode; and we'll continue that summer flavor tomorrow with the chance of some severe storms lurking about.

SATELLITE

We'll have another bright, sunny today today, with some icy cirrus sneaking in from time to time. It'll be very warm/hot and humid, but the humidity isn't a total killer. We won't be Arizona dry or August muggy, just somewhere in between and you'll feel it a bit as temps creep up. Highs today in the upper 80's to low 90's, slightly cooler at the shore with a seabreeze developing. REGIONAL RADAR

For tomorrow, you'll feel that humidity more as our cold front begins to make its presence noticed. We'll have sun and clouds, very warm/hot and humid, with highs again in the upper 80's to low 90's.

With the higher humidity and heat, we'll have enough juice in the air to help spark several small/narrow lines or clusters of storms upstate and into NW NJ/ NE PA. I'll be keeping a close lookout to see if they're able to combine into a more organized line and make it our way. These storms have the chance to be powerful, with gusty winds, torrential rain, frequent CTG lightning, and hail. The angle of attack for our front makes it ripe for storms surviving the trip into the NYC/LI area, but only if storms organize into a line. If not, they will be scattered in nature and not everyone will see action. Stay tuned and we will start watching the radar. As of of now, ETA is somewhere in between 4-9pm.

Sunday remains looking warm and breezy, but some leftover instability could spark a widely scattered shower or popcorn storm. We'll have sun and clouds, stiff northwesterlies, and highs in the mid 80's.

LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY

Our long range continues to hold steady with the idea of a seasonable Monday before the heat returns. Expect sunny skies with comfortable conditions and mid 80's Monday, then we start creeping towards 90 again Tuesday, onward.

Your July 4th Hail-Mary forecast is also holding steady, creeping back towards my initial outlook, which was very warm and humid, chance of a thunderstorm.
