Raising broomcorn

I was raised on a farm near Lindsay, Oklahoma where broomcorn was an important crop. Here is video footage of planting and harvesting broomcorn back in the 1960's. The farmers in that area had stopped growing the crop by the mid 1970's because of cheap broomcorn coming in from Mexico and because of plastic brooms.
