Kimberly “Kimycola” Winter recorded her burp at 107.3 decibels
Most people in the world would be embarrassed of their burping habit, but Kimberly “Kimycola” Winter, is not one of them. The USA native, with unusually loud burps, has recently broken the world record for the world’s loudest burp (female).
Her record-breaking burp hit 107.3 dB. This surpassed the previous record of 107 dB, which was achieved by Elisa Cagnoni from Italy in 2009. A similar record for the loudest burp in the male category is held by Neville Sharp of Australia. His burp measured 112.7 dB in 2021.
As per The Guinness World Records, Winter’s burp is “louder than a blender (70-80 dB), an electric handheld drill (90-95 dB), and even some motorcycles at full throttle (100-110 dB)”
To mark her record, she was required to burp in a sound recording studio so that any reflected sound is eliminated. Winter visited the studios of iHeartRadio station and did her record attempt by burping live during the popular radio talk show ‘Elliot in the Morning’, which is hosted by DJ Elliot Segal.
