Of course not... He and his buddy Buffett are just on a mission to seed some FUD. Their recent comments show clearly a hidden agenda.
It means they are seeding FUD. "Don't buy Bitcoin, it is dangerous and immoral garbage only used by criminals"
It also means we are still in stage two.
Here are the 3 stages of new disruptive technologies again:
- Laugh at it (people using it are stupid)
- Fight it like it is the devil himself (governments and investment gurus issue warnings, controlled social media bans it)
- Accept it, because it can no longer be denied (mainstream adoption, government wants its share of the pie)
The same happened at the early stages of the internet (and related first mover companies) and the "wireless" related companies. There are probably a lot more examples for theese stages.
But it also means, that they are likely afraid. Very afraid, that some currency that they can't control is going to be more popular than their beloved "shitcoin" fiat Dollar.
They know that they can't stop it, so they just try to delay the success of cryptos for as long as possible...
Gates and Buffet should retire to some island and live out the rest of their lives in peace and contemplation. Why these rich bastards still so involved in the world affairs? Do they honestly believe they will live forever and steer the world to their liking?

In fact, just like now Gates made one comment more stupid than the next about the Internet. here is doing it again.
I wonder just how smart Gates really is? he is billed as a genius!!! But, possible he and his company just a front for tech that was already developed by heavily backed and financed govt institutes such as Rand, Fairchild, etc etc. More Gates opens his mouth the more I think it is true that the tech was developed by the govt (military ) through its slew of research institutes and then Gates won the prize to front it as his own.

Yeah when I read this article this morning I laughed and said that it was bullshit too. First of all Bill was saying that Bitcoin is unstoppable just a couple of years ago and now he is trying to bet against it? He even said "Bitcoin is better than currency" in an interview.
The irony is that a lot of these billionaires say contradictory statements. Warren Buffett says to never invest in something you don't fully understand. Then he goes out in public and says he doesn't know much about cryptocurrencies, his company invested in crypto soon after, and now he is calling it rat poison squared :-D!
He is going senile, while Bill is probably trying to buy himself some more time to accumulate a position in blockchain tech.
