I’ll introduce each members of BTS by the order that they joined BTS.
1 - RM
The first member who was scouted to BTS is RM.
He was a competent rapper in underground hiphop scene. Bang Si-hyuk, the representative of BTS’s company, Big hit entertainment, was impressed by RM’s capacity and contracted with him.
RM’s early stage name in BTS was a rap monster and his real name is Namjun Kim.
RM’s solo MV can be found on youtube if you search for ‘Rap Monster’. His solo MVs are at the early period of BTS.
RM is the leader of BTS and he is the tallest member.
RM was very smart and had a high score in school. His IQ at highschool was 148.
When he was in middle school, he happened to listen to Korean Rap Music and decided to be a rapper and convinced his parents to be a rapper.
He uploaded his music on the web and perfomed in underground hiphop stage.
2 - Suga
The second member to join BTS is Suga.
His real name is Yungi- Min.
The stage name sugar is from the abbreviation of shooting guard in basketball game.
He was also in basketball group in highschool.
Suga is from a local area Daegu and he was a crew of underground hip hop team.
He didn’t have a plan to be an idol and he applied for Bit Hit entertainment audition to be a composer and producer. He got second prize at the audition with his producing and arranging skills.
The representative of Big hit entertainment, Bang Si-hyuk asked him to join as a member of BTS.
Bang Si-hyuk persuaded Suga to be a group member by saying that Bang Si-hyuk was planning to make a hiphop group and the dance movement would be simple. It could be Bang Si-hyuk’s sincere words at that time because Bang Si-hyuk’s first concept of group was a hiphop goup. However, the concept of BTS has been changed and BTS’s dance movement is one of the hardest among Kpop stars.
Suga is a BTS’s idol member but he also participate a lot of BTS’s music production.
3 - J-hope
The third member is J-hope.
J-hope was already famous as a competent dancer in his local area Gwang-ju before he joined BTS.
He worked as a street dancer before BTS.
He was scouted at Bit Hit audition at dance academy.
The interviewer from Bit Hit entertainment installed camera and asked j-hope to dance and went out. When the interviewer came back after 3 hours, j-hope was still dancing.
The interviewer was impressed by j-hope’s passion and patience and recruited him right after.
J-hope’s real name is Hosuk- Jung.
His stage name was made to be a hopeful being.
J is from his last name and the stage name was combined with hope.
4 - Jungkook
Jung-kook is the 4th member of BTS.
Jung-kook is his real name and his last name is Jun.
He is the youngest member and he joined BTS and when he was in middle school.
When Jungkook was in middle school, he applied for superstar K audition which is an audition similar to American Idol.
He was eliminated in the preliminary rounds of the contest but he attracted many entertainment company’s attention and he received business card from seven famous entertainment companies including SM entertainment, which was the biggest entertainment company at the time.
Jungkook also received a business card from Big Hit Entertainment which is a BTS’s company now. At the time, Bit Hit company was not very famous and small. Jungkook visited Bit Hig Entertainment to see the company and their he saw RM rapping. Jung-kook was very impressed by RM’s rap and he chose bit hit entertainment and joined BTS.
He is from a local area Busan which is near sea-side. His stage name could be seagull meaning a seagull from Busan. But he liked his real name and he use his real name as a stage name.
He was not a good dancer when he joined BTS. But Bit Hit entertainment sent him to US for dance training and at the time, he fell in love with dancing and his dance skill developed surprisingly.
5 - V
The 5th member of BTS is V.
V’s real name is Tae-hyung Kim and he debuted as an actor in Korean Drama after BTS’s success.
He was a hidden member of BTS before the debut and opened to public close to BTS’s debut.
The reason of hiding V was that Big Hit entertainment was worried about other entertainment’s stealing him. V was young and had a handsome face, good low voice and Big Hit entertainment was V’s the first audition. Big Hit entertainment was worried about other entertainment company’s tempting him after he was opened to public before BTS’ debut.
V was kept as a secret weapon of BTS.
He was scouted at Big Hit entertainment’s audition. He was following his friend to see the audition but he caught the company’s attention and he was the only one scouted at the audition.
He dreamed to be a farmer but he started to learn Saxophone by his father. He loved playing Saxophone and it made him prepare for the art highschool. But he failed to enter the art highschool but it became a chance to be a member of BTS.
6 - Jin
The 6th member is Jin.
Jin is tall and handsome member who was dreaming to be an actor.
Jin was a college student in the department of theater and film before joining BTS.
When he was on his way to school, the casting manger from Bit Hit entertainment scouted him.
He was not used to singing and dancing because his dream was being an actor. But after joining BTS, he trained hard to be a good singer and dancer.
Jin was also offered to be a trainee at SM entertainment when he was in middle school by his handsome look. But at that time, he thought the offer was a scam and he didn’t go to SM entertainment.
Jin’s real name is Suk-jin Kim and the stage name ‘jin’ is from part of his real name.
Jin is the eldest member at BTS>
7 - Jimin
The last member joined BTS is Ji-min.
Ji-min’s real name is Jimin park.
As he joined BTS latest, he had the shortest time as a trainee and his debut was decided the latest.
He couldn’t debut as a BTS because all the position was already set before Jimin join the BTS.
But he was very hardworking person and he was finally determined as a BTS member.
Before BTS, he entered Busan art high school at the top of his class. He majored in modern dance in highschool.
He joined BTS at Bit Hit entertainment’s public audition.
He is very talented singer and dancer and it is hard to imagine BTS without Jimin now.
