It is not that simple, I have handled 300-400 refunds manually despite having a no refund policy. I have gone out of my way to help every single one personally, even though they have all been user error. I have done this for as long as have been able to sustain it. The fact of the matter is I have a very large lease (almost 35,000 steem/month) and each return is not less profit, it is a flat out loss. I am struggling to just break even due to high costs of leases.
Everyone uses bot tracking tools to know exactly how much is in the queue and how much time is left, they bid on that information. When someone bids $1, $2, or even $90 that I have to return because they made a mistake, I do not get a product back I can resell or use, their bid is distributed to other bidders and used. I do not make more money when I refuse to give a refund, I make the same, when I give a refund I take a loss.
It is not something I want to do, but it is not practical to do 10-20 refunds a day taking endless loses and coming up negative on my leases.
So when someone makes a mistake, and it is on their end, should I take a loss for the money or should they? I do not make more money if I don't refund their money. I do take a real loss when I do, which I cannot afford to keep doing.
If you make a mistake on Bitshares, Bittrex, or almost any crypto platform, they are your responsibility. They offer no refund or support to fix it. This is standard practice and other bots have had the same policy and I tried to avoid it for a long time, and I continued to lose money and a lot of time for months.
