Hello michaelrojo,
Nice Martial dance! ... If you are too busy with a single person OR if you are too nice (not breaking bones etc...) such can cause you to be in a very dangerous situation! If you simply hammer the opponent and they drop to the ground they can them time again to re attack... They can get up and pull a hidden weapon or keep you busy enough that others can jump on you or find you in a crowd... End a real fight as soon as it starts... Materials within this video is meant for OPEN DOOR schools, private groups invite only (CLOSE DOOR) groups focus more on the practical, but again that varies greatly!
It can be dangerous telling students that nice flowing calm movements is what gets the job done... That is a TRUE fantasy... The movements alone are not wrong, but the actual skill level to not be too ridged, formal, and stuck in pre determined start and end points of a movement (application) to actually make peaceful and gentle movements used for hurting another takes years of skill... It is ALMOST unteachable that is of course you can reach the level most fantasy about...
There is nothing a teacher can do to teach fighting as by doing so means there has to be REAL intention of serous harm or possible killing and NO ONE does that in current times... Hurting students or having them due to lack of control, understanding, and preventable accidents prevent a great many killing arts or at least the commonly viewed arts as nearly impossible to learn...
My view is Stretching and Exercise, Sport (ring "fighting"), and Martial Dance (martial art forms, applied) do not come remotely close to the skill level needed to protect your life on the streets. ... Some things you can do well, but no one has full control all the time... Deal with one when others are running at you can get you killed if you do the methods within this video... Unless you know how to seriously harm or kill and now how to control several attackers at the same time fixating on a single attacker could get you knifed, shot, jumped on and stomped... Saying where was my martial art skill when laying on an ER bed with Doctors hovering you is NOT the way to verify your limits and skills.
Later,
