Waking up sans the alarm yields close to eight hours of sleep. There's usually some kind of noise outside of my door. Today kids screaming. People getting up early for breakfast or tours. I woke up, listened to a couple of the reports on what's coming, worked out... more pushups. I still look pretty good from a distance. But I want close up cred.
Beer Breakfast!
I need to do the most difficult pushups I can manage, even if it's one or two reps, or even a hold. The right shoulder is sore, but it doesn't hurt as much. Make sense?
Sore is muscle regeneration. Hurt is pain... damage. Repair. I don't know what I did to it but it was a challenge for a while. Now I can do some exotic type stuff that will build new neural connections. I'm into that now. I have to keep it in mind. For instance, I threw five chestnuts into the Burgos creek with my left hand (I'm right handed). I still feels funny, but more natural at the same time. I'm pecking out this entry on my phone, mostly with two thumbs. It's easy because after typing a couple or three letters a word is suggested. Usually I don't even have to finish the word.
Today in Burgos
I got out of the room at a decent time. The lady on the floor asked if I wanted the room cleaned, "¿limpio?" Si. I really think they want to clean the room. Kind of a sense of duty. Every two days unless I have a "no molestar" sign to hang on the door. It's funny how "molest" means "disturb". It's taken on a different idea over the years, in English.
The cathedral is a magnificent sight.
I went straight to the cathedral. Aside from being the main event in Burgos, it also seems like a hang out area. Since it draws tourists it also draws those who take advantage of tourists. I took a few pix. It's a sunny Friday and the plaza is lively.
Standard graf along the creek.
Today I was on a search; first for the exercise parque, which turned out to be a playground for kids. No adult equipment. And next, a place to eat besides my usual spot. The places around the cathedral are a bit more pricey, but not as much as I expected. It's that I didn't like what was on the menu. Pizza, pasta... I can't bring myself to eat that, even in Europe.
During my search I happened past this place along the camino. I liked the music so I peeked in. I was going to have my first cup of tea, however when I saw that 1906 Reserva Especial was on tap... this became breakfast. Literally! Even before tea. Now, I'm feeling the buzz. If course, Spanish will improve as well as my sense of humour. And my writing. I think you're in for a treat. Or maybe I'll just pass out.
There are many sculptures like this in Burgos
That beer really lowered my energy. Not worth it. I went to another place for a tea and some drawing. I think I'll end up at my regular spot. It should be emptying out by the time I get there... or maybe just nod. Beer nap. Ha ha.
Today is a holiday. My favorite place is closed. All the mercados on the street are closed. I didn't figure this out until right now. I reached a place with platos combinados... "platters" basically, with eggs. Burgos is very affordable for me, but I still prefer Palencia. Two more nights here. What to do tonight? More training. More exotic planks and pushups, I guess.
Ahhh! Good meal. First meal. Damn near sundown. No wonder I ate it all enthusiastically.
The state of Djing these days. I used to have one of these.
I think I am extraordinarily fatigued to have done what little I just did. I must regain many elements I once had; strength and endurance to name two.
And on that note. I can close this day out.
