Remaining part of task 3
Expression #2
Evaluate this expression: (x^2 + 2x - 3) / (x + 1) when x = 2
In the first step, we substitute the value of x in the given expression, in nominators and in denominators
First, i solve the nominator, here exponential term is solved as 2^2 = 2×2 = 4 . Then to solve the multiplication as 2×2 =4 the above expression changes as
On performing addition and subtraction in nominators and denominators we proceed step by step
final answer= 5/3 = 1.6
Expression #3
Solve the following equation: 2x + 5 = 3(x - 2) + 1
This expression is a bit different from others because here the equivalent sign devide the expression in two halves. So im going to solve these one by one and then equate them.
In this step i simply multiple 3 with the terms in parentheses to solve it
In the following step just addition is performed to get i.e -6 +1= -5
Because L.H.S is already in simplest form so both side can be equivalent as follow
L.H.S = R.H.S
On rearranged this equation
we get
5+5 =3x -2x
Here is the final answer we got
5/3= 1.67
