The Derawan Islands are an archipelago located in Berau Regency, East Kalimantan. In these islands there are a number of charming marine tourism objects, one of which is the Underwater Park which is of interest to foreign tourists, especially world-class divers.
When you first set foot here, don't be surprised if you will be greeted with a dazzling stretch of white sand. The color of the water which is very clear will also make you feel at home to linger in this area. This natural panorama is the main holiday dish for tourists visiting
Another factor that is the reason why this area is a must to visit, namely the underwater ecosystem and the beauty of the surrounding nature are still very well preserved. It is only natural that many tourists flock to this place, both local and international tourists.
In 2005 the government tried to register this tourist area with UNESCO as a world heritage site, even to the point where it earned the nickname "Pristine Island".
