About 8 months ago I heard the concept of mining with your Hard Drive. It seemed like a great idea. Though, at the time Bitcoin had far surpassed the average home user for mining. So, I thought this may be out of reach.
After more researching I came across a pool mining web page example. If you can think back to 8 months ago, there wasn't an abundance of YouTube videos to pick and choose from. And so I found myself looking at a daunting screen of gibberish. Coupled with editing files through notepad, and writing plots. My first impression was to say the least horrifying.
Fast forward to today and much of the hard work has been fine tuned to just a couple steps to get you up and running. A lot of time and effort has been put in to developing the software to streamline the whole process, which I applaud wholeheartedly. This left me with a few answered queries that I wasn't able to find easily. I would like to share these steps with you so you can avoid the doubts I had when researching Burst mining.
The Burst Nation Branded AIO Wallet and the Burst local host site are separate entity's. I found I could create the same wallet address on both versions, though they worked independently of each other. I think I may have done something wrong, but to be safe, just stick to the software version.
Writing plots takes a long time.............. a long time. I do recommend if you have a slower computer to plot in smaller amounts like 100gig at a time. This way you can reduce the risk of a crash. I say this from experience. After 5 hours into plotting a 1TB drive my PC crashed. Unfortunately the process is required to start over. From the beginning....
If you've been successful at plotting your HDD and setting up your mining then congratulations. There is only one thing left to do. Find a mining pool.
This is one thing I had a lot of trouble finding an answer to. The picture below represents ( although not obvious ) a lack of HDD space for this mining pool. At the time I was testing it with a 50gig plot size. What I noticed was the same result for all of the mining pools. I couldn't find a definitive recommended size to start out. But after a little more searching I found that this mining pool : pool.burstcoin.eu catered to newcomers. So I would suggest testing your plot sizes on this server. So to put it more simply. If you are continually seeing blue and grey lines of text without anything in between, then it is most likely your HDD size is inadequate.
5 . You are able to type the pool mining address into a browser like Firefox or Chrome to get detailed statistics, percentages for payouts about your mining pool.
Hopefully this helps you with venturing into Burst Coin Mining. It has been a fun experience thus far and I hope to expand into buying assets, but that is a whole different ball game.
Good Luck
