Hey guys,

Goodplanets here and I want to talk today about a crypto-currency that can be mined with spare hard disk space.

Burstcoin or BURST as you may or may not know it is a NXT based crypto-currency. BURST had zero pre-mined coins and no IPO. Best of all it can only be mined with the Proof of Capacity algorithm.

The Proof of Capacity algorithm or POC is an advantageous method for mining crypto-currency as it is ASIC resistant. (ASICs are an application-specific integrated circuit customized for mining crypto-currency according to Wikipedia)

ASICs and graphics cards can be expensive and costly to run depending on the costs of electricity in your area but BURST mining avoids all that with the energy efficient hardware everyone with a computer likely already owns, Hard disks. These rigid nonremovable magnetic disk with a large data storage capacity thankfully use very little electricity to operate on a long term.

In the following Blog posts I would like to bring you up to speed on how to mine BURST with your spare HDD space or how to expand your mining operation to include BURST mining on a greater scale.
