100TB+ Burstcoin HardDrive Miner Build List

in burstcoin •  7 years ago

I explain all of the parts required to build your very own 100TB Burstcoin miner. I breakdown the reasons why I choose each of the components for the miner and the costs for parts and then finally returns you can expect from this machine.

Nice video, I'm interested on mining burst, I'm now looking for hard drives, 6Tb or 8Tb maybe. Is the USB speed affecting the mining speed? Or USB 2.0 and 3.0 are the same?

USB 3 is highly recommend for anything above 250GB drives.

great video.
what internal drives would you recommend?
and does the clock speed, number of cuda cores, or memory of the GPU helps write the plots faster? If budget was not an issue, would you recommend buying a Nvidia Tesla GPU?

I've used some Toshiba internal drives I think they were x300 5TB, good speed & price. I don't recommend a Tesla gpu, any opencl compatible gpu will provide adquate results. The drive write speed is a bottleneck not the gpu.

thank you for your fast reply.
i am thinking of using the seagate 10tb barracuda pro 7200rpm.
what is your opinion on the drive?

here is my build in progress:

let me know what you think of the parts. thanks

Very useful info, thanks for sharing!!

Thanks for watching.

Hmmmm...

Care to elaborate on that?

Great Information but there electricity is not stable in my country. Can this be done on a cloud server?

Its possible but not practical to do so. Its too slow and costly to provide a return.

Should I buy burst?

Hello, thanks for sharing, how much wattage do you expect per drive? And can I mine this on a computer that is already mining ethereum and still keep mining ETH ?

I have a i5 6600k, a 6 pci-e mobo, 1 r9 390 and 2 rx 570s. Would you recommend adding 10 drives to that system?

The system would be suitable for mining BUrstcoin in addition to its current work load, you can mine using the Blago cpu miner to read your HD's.

Thanks for your feedback.

Each drive uses max 10 watts but most of the time idling at 5 watts.

Can someone GPU mine Ethereum and Sia, and then also mine Burst on tha same machine??? I got an upvote for you when you reply :)

Yes its possible. Typically you would gpu mine Eth and use the cpu for mining Burstcoin with Sia running in the background.

So you can CPU mine Burstcoin? Don't you need to have a large harddrive for that?

Are you talking about have Sia making money off the storage?

I think it would be pretty awesome to have a 8 GPU rig going, with like 100TB of space, with kickass bandwidth just being a money generating machine.

Actually i mine Ethereum and Decred with GPU, Sia in the back and Burst with the CPU.
You lose a little bit of power on every coin you mine, but its around 2%, so you should mine as much as possible, to get the most out of your machine ;)

What do you mean Sia in the back?

I only play a litle bit with sia, to try it out a little bit.
