in business •  6 years ago

friends, today i will discuss the points need to be considered while working with online business.

First of all, make sure that  Padlock or key or address bar as green icon in  browser's address bar. This symbol means that your information is secure. Avoid sites with red address bar as it may not be secured connection.

secondly, be sure that when you're giving your personal information,  look for the "s" after the "http." it should be "https://" This "s" means your personal information is secure.

Moreover, Company should have proper postal addresses. If the website doesn't have any postal address or contact information at all, that's suspicious. Make a call and witness  if they reply like professionals. Ask the company profile and business plan. you can also check the registration with their state to see if it's an actual business.

Friends, keep in mind that good looking website does not mean it's legitimate but a very unprofessional website is a sign of a scam. you should also consider spelling mistakes, loading errors, sites with a lot of pop up ads and low quality pictures. If you see these signs, site may be scam. You may search Business Bureau which gives grades to business, Business may have grades A+ to F. Business that has a B or a C grade may also be a legit business.

Check  review sites and social media, which offer reviews of online businesses. Check it to make sure people aren't saying the business is bad or is a scam. You should also consult  friends and family members, if any of them have the business before and have experience of online business.

Always, Make payment through credit card or bank account because if the company is fraudulent, you may have get your money back. You may also use payment mediator such as PayPal as these services protect your information from those who may want to steal it. If the company is asking for personal information, do not send it to them. Legitimate companies will never ask for personal information.

Update your computer and smartphone as  these updates may be related to security. Be sure it is actually your computer software asking you for the update and  never click on a website or pop up from the internet that tells you to update, as  these may be a virus.

Use strong passwords with online business. Some companies also let you add special characters. Don't use the same passwords on all sites. Change your pass words after some period.
