For most of my life, I was on the side of fear of failing that chose to quit or not even try because I didn’t want to fail. This concept can apply to anything, including business.
For example, I’m an artist, and I have one project in particular that I am scared to even continue with because I don’t want to mess it up. It could either turn out to be my best work yet, or if I mess it up, I will have to start all over. So for months now, I just put it aside and haven’t worked on it at all.
Why is that? Why are some of us so scared of failing that we don’t even give ourselves the opportunity to succeed?
Most people see the glass as either have empty or half full, right? We are either pessimists or optimists, or at least lean towards one side or the other.
But there is another perspective that sometimes we don’t see.
The glass is refillable.
Just think about that for a second.
Today I might be trying and failing, trying and failing, but as long as I keep pushing, tomorrow I just might have my breakthrough.
You have to decide to take on that mindset. That failure just isn’t even an option anymore. Just because you have tried and failed before (or have been too scared to try), whatever the case may be, doesn’t mean that another idea will not work out for you.
I was just listening to Anik Singal on Entrepreneur TV - (Episode 1 “Failing Forward” in Free TECademics training if you want to watch it). - Anik was talking about how people coming into this industry want to make the big bucks, but don’t want to invest their time learning and growing (while failing). But that’s the only way you’re going to get to the point where you are making $10k/month, or whatever your goal is.
Doctors don’t just decide they want to be doctors and instantly make a doctor’s salary. They put in the work, commit to it for years, and eventually reap the benefits.
Even the average person today will spend thousands of dollars on their education in the hopes of creating an abundant life, but yet so many people today, even those who call themselves entrepreneurs, are not willing to invest in themselves when it comes to their business, or trying to start a business.
You have to be willing to start, fail, and grow, and fail, and grow, and eventually have that breakthrough you’ve been waiting for.
I’m telling you, your breakthrough is just on the other side of failure. Anik was literally 24 hours away from quitting, after 18 months of failing, before making his first $300 online in one night. Now, he’s doing very well, with a recent product launch at over 10 million!! But where would he be today if he had decided to quit that day? Where will you be a year from now?
Just wanted to share my thoughts on this with you today. Hope you got something out of it.
Talk soon,
Chelsea
