Startup Blabber #011: A Type of Communication, the Speech

Dear Steemians,

I was able to have a unique opportunity to have dinner with the founder of JOBKOREA, a job searching portal for Korea. I very highly respectable gentleman, I have found that I have learned quite a lot talking with this person. I just wanted to take the time the share a key takeaway for me from that conversation.

The Speech

There are times when you want a dialogue with a party to happen only after you have stated everything you wanted to say first. In this case, he said to actually not talk with the person, but write a letter, to the party. There are a few key advantages to writing said letter:

1. You have the chance to carefully craft exactly what you want to relay to the other party
2. The other party knows exactly how long the letter is, i.e. there is a finite endpoint to the conversation

The key disadvantage would be that this written form of communication is void of all of the emotions that come in to play during an actual human discussion. I may be somewhat old-school, but I enjoy the person-to-person conversation with people, having a discussion with other expressions in play, but I do understand what he is talking about.

Maybe I should test it out somehow.
