Abstract:
Apartment and communal laundry services are notorious for lost or frustrated revenues. Recently some companies have came into this space to help rental companies capture these profits with the use of scannable cards and a smart payment kiosk. Today's entrepreneurial whitepaper aims to show the value of adding block-chain technology to this simple business idea.
Value Proposition:
- To accurately facilitate apartment, commercial, and other communal-based laundry services.
- To make a bitcoin based payment card that facilitates payment methods.
Methods
To make this token-based business a reality, you will need a medium sized investment for developing your minimum viable product (MVP). You will need to create a computer kiosk that handles the purchase of tokens from multiple currencies. The computer loads a smart card with Laundry Coin.
On the other side of the transaction, laundry machines are fitted with Laundry Coin scanning pads that accept payment. The digital display tells you exactly how much your load will cost based on the settings you selected.
A Smart Card facilitates the trade between the users and the machines. This card can also accept and provide payment services using other coins.
Discussion:
The benefit is that all the coins are traceable and refundable. If the machine doesn't run, it can send them back to your card with ease.
Smart Cards operate on a 5% arbitrage fee, additionally by issuing bitcoin based smart cards to every individual in an apartment building, Laundry Coin will personally invite up to 5000 people into crypto with an average installation.
Currently other companies are using gift card type systems, charging up to $10 per card. So as long as these smart cards are under $10 each, we remain competitive.

I love the idea. Once again, an easy way to put cryptocurrency into the hands of everyone. Do I think it would be adopted quickly by complexes? Maybe. There would have to be some pretty good incentive for them in order to switch from the traditional system though. Thanks for sharing!

This would require some hustle! There could definitely be incentive for bitcoin enthusiasts and business people to invest in a low-tech implementation like this. If not for global implementation of bitcoin, then to be their first account providers.

So where's the ROI?

It could be entirely outsourced, where the rental company pays for the entire installation and LaundryCoin automatically wire their profits.
Additionally, every user pays $10 for their smart card. The company would make roughly 5% on transactions, as bitcoin becomes more common place, they could use their card at other vendors.
If the average installation includes 5000 users, that could be a sizable ROI.
I'm open to any other ROI ideas as well.

This is how crypto currency will become ubiquitous. Not by educating the masses on its benefits but by making the typical person's laundry transaction easier.

I agree @geke. You need to make this stuff VERY common to all people before you'll find bitcoin taking over the global economy.
