Also, I wanted to share with you that we have a coffee company in Sweden that operates on similar principles (sans Steem). It's called Johan & Nyström and they have developed what they call a Direct Trade model. They are hugely popular and they quite possibly have the best coffee in Sweden. Therefore I hope that your new venture will be very successful too and I wish you all the best! I'll be following you with interest!

Yes, direct trade is the way to go, in my opinion. You can get good prices on great coffee by dealing with farmers directly and not paying multiple middlemen. And there's no need for certifications of "fairness" when you can prove your relationships and the satisfaction of the producers.
