First of all... What's a makerspace?

A makerspace is a collaborative workshop where the public can gain access to tools, machines, and software that will unlock their creative potential, and encourage the learning of new skills. Members of the public will be able to pay a monthly fee to use 3d printers, laser cutters, wood lathes, and more! A makerspace also has loads of supplies and materials for creatives to craft, tinker, and create anything they can dream up!

What makes The Steem House unique?

As you may be able to tell from the name, our makerspace will be "Steem-centric"! Not only will we create a place for people to create, we will empower all of our members to earn money for something they truly enjoy doing! We will create a fountain of value for the Steem Blockchain, while enriching the lives of those in our community, and possibly creating a much needed boost to our local economy! By encouraging our members to do anything they want, and earn money for it, we can empower the next generation of small business owners, and show the world that work doesn't have to feel like work!

Bringing talented individuals to the Blockchain could also create the next generation of decentralized apps and community projects. Lending to the long-term growth of the Steem ecosystem, and doing our part to boost the value of the currency. That helps everyone here, not just those who invest. STEEM has the power to create real change, and we will integrate this amazing platform into every aspect of our business.

Our progress and achievements so far:

• We have found a 2000 Sq. ft. space for our makerspace, with an affordable rent that includes utilities.

• With the money we have already raised, we have enough to move in, and will be signing a lease sometime this week or next!

• We have met with our local Chamber of Commerce, who loved our ideas and enthusiasm! They also informed us that they have been brainstorming the best way to create a "small business incubator", and were very interested in the "revolutionary social media network" we told them all about!

• The Steem House LLC is now a registered business in the state of Kentucky! In the coming days, we'll be filing tax paperwork with the IRS to get our FEIN, and purchasing a city business license. From there, we're good to go, and can start legally operating The Steem House!

If you're reading this, you likely understand how Steemit works. Some of you better than others. We cannot in all good conscience guarantee how long it will take for this investment to pay off, but we can promise that everyone who invests will see a generous return.

Here are some reasons for you to get involved!

There are many projects being "crowdfunded" here on Steemit by funding projects like @steemraise, @anonymous.donor, and @sndbox, and from investors like @jerrybanfield with his @budgets project. Here's the best reason we think those projects would benefit from helping us hit our goal: The lifelong dividends.

This could be an extra stream of revenue that can be used to fund even more projects! It will certainly start slow, but given time, we believe these dividends could go a long way toward helping boost entrepreneurship and new ideas on the Steem Blockchain. If we have failed to mention any funding groups or project investors here, please make us aware of them so we may attempt to reach out!
