Got a License for that YouTube Channel or Steemit Blog? You May Be Facing a Fine.

Justin Chandler was shocked and confused when he was given a citation for operating a business out of his home without first obtaining a license.

Unlike many people who run home-based businesses, Chandler doesn’t actually sell anything. In fact, he doesn’t even provide a service. He does, however, run a successful YouTube channel, which, according to officials in Cobb County, Georgia, means Chandler qualifies as a small business owner.

Governments should fuck off with any laws that don't have a victim. What victim is there with a bunch of guys who are PAYING for internet access and making money from it? Maybe, if the governement was supplying the internet for free it would be a different story, but they don't, so.... what's the harm? No victim no crime.

Permits are useful for things that could potentially hurt other people. If you want to install a septic tank at your house, you should get a permit to ensure everything is checked and you aren't dumping shit where someone else has dug a well or something. There is a potential for a serious victim there and the permit is a good way to prevent that. If you abuse the idea behind the permit, than the situations where permits are needed become less important.

Permits are also useful things used to meddle with other people's affairs. When someone's behavior needs to be put in check, a permit is there. The tricky thing is making sure permits accomplish a specific task while being applied without prejudice, in local government that's asking a lot since applying them with prejudice is kind of the point.

do you want to request permits every time you go on a site? Can big daddy government watch you every move , they are "protecting" you after all , or is it that they like their own power and get annoyed when people go off grid and into another space , i think they just like taxes and revenues , so just pay up and shut up

do you want to request permits every time you go on a site?

Of course I do, doesn't every Steemian?

ok would you ask for permission from a 3rd party when you want to go to a store or something ? :D hope your joking :D

Only non-joking clause I've written here.

The government is way past the point where it could make itself less important or more irrelevant.

Land of the fee and home of the slave.

llllllllllllloooooooooolllllllllll :D

Thank you. I'll be here all week.

Here in Lithuania they almost passed a law that you have to register your YouTube channel to some governmental censorship group so that they could track all the stuff you are doing. I guess the situation is not that bad as that law is not yet passed.
Another great thing for me is that Lithuania is far behind in controlling stuff on the internet. I guess people in government don't know that things like cryptocurrency even exist. They tried to start regulating PayPal last year, but people said "Screw you" and they backed up. Perks of living in a shithole :D

;)

haha, good one. Sorry if I disappointed you, my freedom will not last much longer anyway, they are thinking of ways to control it everyday.

Cobb County, Georgia officials were shocked to learn that Justin Chandler had suddenly become vehemently anti-government.

Hey...let those idiots in government keep making stupid decisions. Maybe people will finally gain or re-gain some effin' sense.

$ 136 fine for a day..... ??? They earn money in good way, not from robbing or thieving, Why?

It was only a matter of time. I'm not surprised.

Anyone taking blogging seriously should do it anyway, then write off your "expenses" like your new laptop, camera and other Steemit blog necessities. ;)
