Music was part of my life ever since I can remember and most of my memories have a musical background. Although my father plays saxophone and clarinet since he was sixteen years old I never had any attraction towards learning to sing or play any instrument. I felt though always attracted to lose my mind in music.

It might sound nuts to say that I lose my mind whenever I listen to music, but I can't describe the feeling in other words. No matter if I have a feeling of happiness or sadness there is almost every day a playlist to change moods and to get me out of everything. It's one of the gems of life on earth that I'm really enjoying. Something that might make aliens envy us.

The first key notes that I remember were Richard Clayderman's. I probably had a few years old and I listened almost everyday a tape of him. I learned that tape so good that I could probably play Ballade pour Adeline if I would set my mind on learning to play the piano very fast. That's how well is his piano rooted in my memory and music soul.

While still playing Richard's tape from time to time it was the 90's disco hits turn to enter my years and mess with my vibe. These hits like Mr.President's Coco Jambo, Jessica Jay's Casablanca and many others were blasting my speakers for years. Most of them I play even now and then and can't consider them outdated at all. It's like that rhythm and vibe that they had is timeless managing to always spark memories and make me turn the volume up.

In the late 90's and the beginning of the '00 the Romanian music(that is my national music) was going into the commercial trend all the way borrowing(or stealing) beats from the international big bands and singers and started to sound very attractive and for a while I included some Romania artists also in my playlist. I couldn't fully replace though my favorite American bands with them, but it was a pretty good mix that I was making in these days.

Almost in the same times I started to hear beats of Dj Aligator, Scooter and Brooklyn Bounce that kinda replaced almost all of my previous favorites and I easily became a house music fanatic. Well, not really a fanatic, but I was listening a lot of this type of music. It was the teenagers rhythm that I couldn't miss so I had my collection of house music CDs from which unfortunately none of them has survived over time.

I can't say that I quit listening house music suddenly after years of it, but I started to develop a taste for rap music in the mid 2000's. It was some national rappers that I had in my speakers and headphones, but mostly Tupac, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre. I was consuming the good old American Rap like no other. I almost learned full songs of Tupac's and had wallpapers and posters with him. It was something of Richard Clayderman's influence in my experience with music. And it last for years.

Not too many, as I gradually got into trance and became an Armin van Buuren fan. Well at least I thing I did. ATB and Tiesto were also in my daily mixes as I not only enjoyed listening to their music, but started to mix some of their songs. I was using atomix mp3 to make such mixes and one time I really mailed it with one of these that a friend of mine who was DJ at a local club played the whole mix in one night.

This trance and progressive trance age kind of never ended, but faded a bit since I don't listen these DJs that much anymore, but I haven't forgot entirely about them. It's hard to define what genre am I listening mostly right now because I am having almost everything. I sometimes open my ears to some classical and chill out music, but I still have my share of trance, rap and some international dance hits. Not to forget about my Romanian singers and bands that have really matured a lot and made themselves a name on international stages also.

Music has always been on my side and sometimes I wonder why I haven't learned to play a musical instrument or continued my mix to become a famous DJ? Probably I didn't had enough confidence that I can make it or was to lazy to even start. But I sure now that music is one important parts of my life and will always be.
