Hard to Kill: "With this I have survived 11 assassination attempts, says John McAfee

John McAfee was off Twitter for a few days, and reappeared on Thursday 21 showing images that placed him in a hospital, receiving intensive care.

He says he was unconscious for two days, after someone tried to kill him by adding poison or "polluting" something he had ingested. McAfee, a technology expert who has focused much of his recent efforts on cryptocurrencies, has previously expressed concern about the assassination attempts.

McAfee posted on Twitter: "I apologize for my three-day absence, but I was unconscious for two days at Vidant Medical Center in North Carolina and woke up. My enemies managed to puncture something I ingested. However, I am more difficult to kill than anyone can imagine. I'm back".

McAfee has feared on previous occasions for his personal integrity. In February 2018, McAfee was invited to be a keynote speaker at the Super Conference of Bitcoin, Ethereum and Blockchain in Dallas. Indeed, he appeared and spoke, but his name was not in the program.

Derek Dwilson, a conference attendee, reported on what was happening at that time: it turned out that McAfee did not want to be announced as part of the talks because he was concerned about his safety. During his speech, McAfee mentioned that people were coming against him because of his work in cryptocurrencies. "Our weapon (cryptocurrency) is a mathematical certainty; we will succeed, "he said. But, he added: "Every time I try to do something seriously, I get a hammer blow to the head from the world."

It is not yet known for sure what caused McAfee to be in the hospital, whether the doctors confirmed that he was actually poisoned, or who the suspects might be. Later, McAfee tweeted that he had survived 11 total assassination attempts, and that he knew who the bomber was, but he was not going to name it publicly.

McAfee, 72, founded the McAfee Associates antivirus company in 1987, which he resigned in 1994. In November 2012, according to Fox News, McAfee was listed as a person of interest in the murder of Gregory Viant Faull, one of his neighbors. Fearing for his life, McAfee left Belize, was arrested in Guatemala and then deported to the United States.

He states that he was not involved in Faull's death, and in 2016 he reiterated that he was willing to testify, on condition that he did not have to return to Belize. The house on McAfee Island was burned in suspicious circumstances in 2013, and Belize police confiscated and auctioned off their assets, as reported by CNN.

In November 2017, McAfee said it believed the Belizean government wanted to kill him because he "hacked and stolen information," according to a Daily Mail publication. The statement came after an incident in Tennessee in September, when, believing he had heard intruders At home, he took his gun and started firing.

He said that both he and his wife Janice lived in fear that they would try to kill him. The Belizean authorities have denied these claims.

In 2016, McAfee ran for president of the United States, but was not elected as a candidate of the Libertarian Party, and has revealed that he intends to deal with it again in 2020.
