A Canadian government body has built a web browser on the Ethereum block chain. The National Research Council of Canada (NRC) announced Monday that it has built such an explorer.

The organization wrote in a statement to the press that its Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP) now houses the explorer in the Inter Planetary File System (IPFS), which will work thanks to the services provided by Bitaccess, a Startup Blockchain technology.

The use of IPFS, according to the Canadian government, ensures that web applications are "unalterable and can be accessed in the future, regardless of whether the original host is online or not."

The browser allows users to search directly within the chain of blocks of Ethereum, it will also allow revenue gain to those who are proactive and contribute data to the browser, according to Bitaccess.

"These are the first days, but it is expected that the NRC IRAP experiments with Blockchain technology will provide constructive information about the potential of this technology, and how it can be used for more open and transparent operations for Dapps and public programs."

According to the message, NRC IRAP launched in January this year the first live test of the Canadian government of the public technology Blockchain in Ethereum, as proof of its effort to build a more transparent administration of government contracts.

Since the launch of the Blockchain solution, it is reported that the program has been exploring additional applications of those originally proposed.

IPFS aims to build a more permanent Internet network by storing multiple copies of data. Initially it attracted all international attention, as it was worrying at that time that the new administration of the United States, led by President Donald Trump, made disappear the data of all government agencies, thus eliminating years and years of hard work in the United States.

Moe Adham, co-founder of Bitaccess, said in a press release that the company is helping to "allow taxpayers to participate in the verification and validation of all public information that does not have a sensitive or secret nature."
