Mother's Day is celebrated on the second Sunday of May in the whole world. This one day has been chosen to express gratitude to all the mothers of the world by showing their respect and love. But can we really pay the debt of all the mothers of the world by keeping this a day? That will not be argued later. Let's now know, some history behind Mother's Day.

The first Mother's Day was celebrated in 1908. An American woman named Anna Jervis observed a day in St. Andrew's Methodist Church in West Virginia for the memory of her mother. After her mother, social worker Ann Reese Jarvis died in 1905, her daughter observed a day in America for her memory. Anne Jarvis, who took part in the American Civil War, took the initiative for the injured soldiers. Keeping that in mind, Mother's Day Work Club was opened in the name of his daughter's mother, for soldiers' care for the children.

Former US President Woodrow Wilson announced in a declaration in 1914 that the second Sunday of May, as a national holiday, has been scheduled in America this year. Since then, World Mother's Day is celebrated on the second Sunday of May every year in the world.

But later, since the 1920s, the greeting card delivery started in the name of Mother's Day celebration. Ange Jervis was very angry and said that these cards-cultures are ruining Mother's Day. Mother's Day has no significance if it is expressed in such a way that duties, responsibilities, and love are to the mother.
