Long before the Kurds started showing their female fighters, the Syrian women were an essential part of the Syrian Arab Army. There are very high ranking female officers in the ranks of the SAA, the Syrian Arab Army. Last July the second Syrian female officer was promoted to Major General, Mrs. Nibal Madhat Badr from the coastal city of Tartous.
Before reaching Major General there are at least 6 previous ranks the officer has to go through and in each rank there's at least a 4 years wait, training, courses, special achievements to be accomplished. Syrian Arab Army is an established regular army unlike many in the region where ranks are granted based on connections to the Emir or Sheikh or whomever. In other words, this particular Major General Badr has been in the SAA not less than 24 years.
I remember when I served my compulsory military service in the Syrian Arab Army after university oen of the officers in the same unit was a First Lieutenant who was a special forces trained officer and came to our unit for a specialized training required for her to get her next promotion.
In the National Defense Forces tens of women of all ages volunteered to save their towns, especially when the attacks were at height in Homs old city and its countryside.
They're not only deadly beautiful, they're also deadly in the battle against the enemies. The enemy fears them and adopt cheap tactics like assassinations, the case with SAA Captain 'Martyr' Iman Yousef is just one of them.
Among others.
They wear uniform and fight alongside the men, not only cooking or in the medical assistance.
This is just a tribute to the prettier half of the Syrian society ignored in Western mainstream media and smeared when mentioned as 'Assad female battalion' as I saw in one post. They are defending their homes and land just like the men of the Syrian Arab Army, they also martyr and do not fear, and they are patriots and heroines in the eyes of each Syrian unlike the separatists working for the US or other foreign powers.
