**ABILITIES YOU NEED TO BECOME SELF POWER.
THE ABILITY TO:

1. Express your point of view in an articulate manner. The ability to speak effectively is the mark of a leader.
   HOW TO ACQUIRE IT:
   Join a debating society or a public speaking course. Join a toastmaster, toastmistress or rostrum club.
2. Project an effective self image. Personality wins friends and influences people.

• Study other people. Read a book on etiquette. Develop a warm sincere smile. Like people and show it.

1. Make effective decisions and avoid procrastination.

• Look at the facts. Weigh the pros and cons, make your decision, then stick to it.

1. Act in a confident manner in every situation, adverse or otherwise.

• Recall your last success. Remember the feeling of confidence it brought. Bring this same feeling to the next challenge you take on.

1. Develop ideas, plan goals and carry them out successfully.

• Read every newspaper, magazines and book you can lay your hands on. Use your imagination. Mix with successful people. Write down your goals and how you intend to accomplish them.

**IDEAS TO HELP YOU SUCCEED.

1. You are born to win. Success depends upon the creative expression of your abilities and the depth and strength of your desires.
2. You succeed when you develop the power of BELIEF. This is not day-dreaming nor wishful thinking, but firm conviction. FAITH in your ability to succeed is essential. Belief in victory is often a battle won.
3. Don't wait for health, happiness and success. Claim health now. Claim happiness now. Claim prosperity now. Live each day as it comes and live it enthusiastically, always expecting the best.
4. Life is programmed accuracy, not luck. Plan and organize your life. Set about your goals in an orderly fashion.
5. Set up a personal success file. Take notes, clip stories that pertain to success from newspaper and magazines. Use 3 inches x 5 inches card to write down ideas that appeal to you. Underscore ifeas that appeal to you in books.
6. You are unique. No other person can think and act in exactly the same manner as you. Be a creator not an imitator. Become a leader, not a copier.
7. Develop personality traits and creative talents. Make a list of the type of person you wish to be.
8. Acquire a library of good books. Books are knowledge. You will require a great deal of knowledge to succeed.
