Gratitude Day: Day #12 - Grateful for a new day

Romans 8:18
For I reckon that
the sufferings of this present time
are not worthy to be compared
with the glory which shall be
revealed in us
.

Greetings dear friends.

Today I begin my post of "Gratitude Day" with the verse of Romans 8:18 as a way to teach my soul and my mind that despite the adverse circumstances, I must thank God in everything and for everything.

Yesterday, May 20, presidential elections were held in my country, which, far from being an act of popular sovereignty and political legitimacy, was another mockery of the government towards the people. It mocks because it is a tyrannical government, it uses the need of the people to buy their votes, there is a humanitarian crisis that they refuse to recognize and they perpetuate themselves in power, leaving apparent hope to a people that peacefully struggle to survive in middle of the economic drowse, the lack of food and medicines and with a flight of professional people and young people who flee to other latitudes in search of a better quality of life.

All this has disturbed my mood a little this day, but I appeal to the anchor of my being that is The Word of God, because she is breath to my soul with the absolute truth of the promises given by our Lord. And clinging to it today I give thanks for this day.

Lord, I thank you because I know that you have control of everything that happens in Venezuela, because it does not move a leaf unless it is your will. The days go by and apparently everything is getting worse, even those who still have a little financial resources, see how the quality of life is diminishing, but Lord, You are the owner of gold and silver, you are our provider and you are the one you put and take governments, so I rest in you, I strengthen in your promises and I thank you for the days that come to Venezuela because I know that your mercy is not shortened but it is new every day and you have good plans for this nation . Thank you for allowing me to meet you and be part of your people, it is an undeserved privilege and I am very grateful to you. Thanks for your love.
