Un agricultor en Iowa continuó cultivando hasta bien entrada la década de los 80. Manejaba su tractor con aire acondicionado diez horas al día, incluso cuando no había nada que cultivar, nada que arar, nada que disolver, grazar o plantar. Condujo hasta que el sol se fue por debajo del horizonte y el cielo era una paleta de añil, sombreando una franja de naranja donde se encontró con la tierra. Condujo hacia esa franja, desde el borde, y hacia el cielo. Su tractor captó el último rayo de sol desde debajo del horizonte y guiñó su chispa de luz mientras navegaba hacia el azul profundo.
